Jeff Abrams, Station Manager/Founder – Jeff has been in Boise for almost 20 years. After living in the Salt Lake City area listening to community radio station KRCL, he recognized the value of listener-supported radio, produced by and delivered to a local audience. He has worked professionally in communications, media, graphic design and advertising and as a biologist for Idaho Department of Fish and Game.
Jack Van Valkenburgh, Chairman – Jack is an attorney and former executive director of the ACLU of Idaho. He has served two terms on the national ACLU’s Executive Directors Council—the association of ACLU state-affiliate executive directors. He has also served on the Executive Committee of the Ada County Human Rights Task Force and on the board of directors of Freedom Means Choice.
Dave Krick, Vice-Chair – Dave founded Bittercreek Alehouse in 1995 and has since opened five restaurants in Downtown Boise. He is a founding member of the Treasure Valley Food Coalition, a non-profit with a mission to develop a local/ regional food system, former Chamber of Commerce Board/Executive Committee member and former President of the Downtown Boise Association Board of Directors. Dave is currently serving on the board of Idaho Green Expo, Sanctuary Homeless Shelter and Treasure Valley Food Coalition. He has twelve years in manufacturing management/training at HP.
Lori Shandro, Treasurer
Nathaniel Hoffman, Secretary - Nathaniel is an independent journalist and the founding editor of The Blue Review, a journal of popular scholarship at Boise State University. He has worked as a reporter and editor in Idaho and California and is currently publishing Amor and Exile, a chronicle of the struggles of American citizens who fall in love with undocumented immigrants. He lives in Boise with his wife and two daughters and a large front-yard garden.
Steve Fulton – Steve is a principal of AudioLab studios with experience in live concert production, audio engineering/producing, sound design/editing and composing for film and video. As a musician, he has commercially released full length studio recordings and toured in the United States and Europe. He is also the creator and producer of “Words & Music” a showcase of singer/songwriters.
Scot Oliver – Scot works as special projects manager for Boise’s redevelopment agency, and is a singer/songwriter and guitar-maker. He was a founding board member and DJ at WMMT-FM, a community-based station in eastern Kentucky that celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2010.
Lisa Leff Cooper - Lisa has played a leadership role in the field of sustainable investing for the past two decades, managing investment portfolios for a wide range of clients including many not-for-profit organizations. She’s currently a partner and senior portfolio manager at Nelson Capital Management, and also a proud 14-year Boise resident, music enthusiast and news junkie.
Beth Markley - Beth is a fundraising consultant and owner of Markley Communication Services, LLC. She has more than 20 years experience with local nonprofit organizations and is a Certified Fundraising Executive. She has served on several nonprofit boards including Rotary Club of Boise, Boise Contemporary Theater, Association of Fundraising Professionals and the Idaho Women’s Charitable Foundation. With her mom, Pat Barclay, she produces Elemental Idaho, an environmental public policy program, which airs noon on Mondays on KRBX. She is a third generation Idahoan who lives in Boise with her husband and two sons.
